Harriet Quimby (May 1, 1875-July 1, 1912) was an early American aviaotor and a movie screenwriter. In 1911, she was awarded a U.S. pilot's certificate by the Aero Club of America, becoming the first woman to gain a pilot's license in the United States. Less than a year she became the first woman to fly across the English channel. Although Quimby lived only to the age of thirty- seven, sh ehad a major influence upon the role o fwomen in avaition.

Pride and Prejudice is a novel by Jane Austen. First published in 1813, as her second novel, she started in 1796 as her first persevering effort for publication. She finished the original manuscript by 1797 in Steventon, Hamphshire, where she lived with her parents and sibilings in the town rectory. Austen originally called the story First Impressions, but it wa never published under that title; instead, she makes extensive revisions to the manuscript, then retitled and eventually published it as Pride and Prejudice. In renaming the novel, Austen amy have had in mind the final chapter of Fanny Burney's Cecilia, itself called "Pride and Prejudice" and where the phrase appears three times in block capitals.
Charlote Bronte (21 April 1816- 31 March 1855) was an English novelist and poet, the eldest of the three Bronte sisters whose novels are English literature stadards. Under the pen name Currer Bell, she wrote Jane Eyre.
